ABOUT ME

Born and raised as a Black girl in New York City, I understand firsthand how mental health struggles within the Black community can be brushed aside or overlooked. Growing up, I often found that many of the challenges Black teens face were either ignored or misunderstood, especially when it came to mental health.

That’s why I am deeply passionate about behavioral psychology, particularly how it intersects with Black teens' unique experiences. Mental health is such a vital part of well-being, but there is a lack of resources catered to us specifically.

I founded the C.A.R.E. Collective to create a supportive, safe space for Black teenagers and young adults in New York City to

access reliable, relevant mental health resources without fear of judgment or shame.

My goal is to build a strong network of verified psychologists and peers who understand and resonate with the lived experiences of Black youth. One of the biggest barriers to mental health support in NYC is the high cost of individual therapy sessions. I want to address that by providing a wealth of free resources—articles, interviews, and mental health tips—that empower young people to take control of their well-being. By building this network, I hope to ease the loneliness that often comes with the fast-paced, overwhelming environment of urban life. Through the C.A.R.E. Collective, I hope to create a space where Black teenagers and young adults can begin their healing journey, find community, and break the silence around mental health.
